MINSK, 10 October (BelTA) – The volume of Belarus' merchandise export keeps steadily rising, the press service of the Belarusian Economy Ministry told BelTA.
The merchandise export volume has been growing steadily for the last five months after a slump in March due to stronger pressure of sanctions. Growth reached 9.2% in August 2022 in comparison with July or $0.3 billion.
In January-August 2022 Belarus' merchandise export reached $3.4 billion, 0.7% up from January-August 2021, which was one of the most successful periods in Belarus' foreign trade.
Surplus of Belarus' foreign trade in merchandise also remains in place. In January-August 2022 it allowed securing the highest foreign trade surplus of the last ten years -- $3.5 billion. The foreign trade surplus grew by $1 billion in comparison with January-August 2021.
