Belarus' export 32.7% up to $22bn in January-June

MINSK, 10 August (BelTA) - In January-June 2021 Belarus' export of merchandise and services rose by 32.7% year-on-year to $22.062 billion, BelTA learned from the website of the National Bank of the Republic of Belarus (NBRB).

In January-June 2021 Belarus' foreign trade totaled $42.399 billion, 30.5% up from the same period in 2020. Import amounted to $20.337 billion (28.3% up). Surplus of foreign trade in goods and services equaled $1.725 million, up from $782.4 million in January-June 2020.

Belarus' merchandise trade soared by 33.4% to $34.894 billion. Merchandise export went up by 37.6% to $17.228 billion, with merchandise import up by 29.5% to $17.666 billion. Merchandise trade deficit totaled $437 million. In January-June 2020 Belarus also had a deficit of $1.121 million.

In January-June 2021 foreign trade in services reached $7.504 billion, 18.8% up year-on-year. Export of services amounted to $4.833 billion (17.6% up), with import at $2.671 billion (21% up). Surplus of foreign trade in services equaled $2.162 billion, up from $1.903 billion in January-June 2020.
