MINSK, 22 January (BelTA) - Belarus is working to obtain a Halal certificate for the products it wants to supply to Malaysia. The matter was discussed at the meeting between Belarus’ Minister of Foreign Affairs Sergei Aleinik and Malaysian Deputy Foreign Minister Datuk Mohamad Alamin on the sidelines of the Non-Aligned Movement summit in Uganda.
“The talks focused on possible ways to intensify bilateral trade and economic cooperation, as well as interaction in other areas. The diplomats pointed to the growth of bilateral trade over the past year and the potential to increase it further. Sergei Aleinik thanked the Malaysian side for the certification of Belarusian dairy products and suggested cooperation in the issuance of Halal certificates to Belarusian producers," the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said.
They also discussed the regional agenda and interaction with the EAEU and ASEAN. Agreements were reached on further contacts and events in 2024.
