Belarus, Egypt discuss prospects of technological cooperation

MINSK, 11 March (BelTA) - Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Egypt Sergei Terentyev has met with Egypt's Minister of Public Enterprise Sector Hisham Tawfik, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The parties discussed the prospects of technological cooperation between Belarusian and Egyptian industrial companies with a view to upgrading the machine-building sector of Egypt and setting up new joint companies with further advancement to the markets of the African countries.

The parties agreed that Belarus would work out a package of proposals for production cooperation of MAZ with Engineering Automotive Manufacturing of Egypt's Ministry of Public Enterprise Sector and also the modernization of the machine-tool fleet of Egypt's Metallurgical Industries Holding Company.

The meeting took place as part of the work to implement the agreements reached during the official visit of the Belarusian president to Egypt in February 2020.
