MINSK, 1 November (BelTA) – The economy ministries of Belarus and Russia continue productive interaction, Belarus' Economy Minister Yuri Chebotar said at a joint meeting of the boards of the Economy Ministry of Belarus and the Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation, BelTA learned from the press service of the Economy Ministry.

According to Yuri Chebotar, the two countries are confidently moving along the path of integration, building legal foundations for promoting cooperation in all key areas. And this work allows Belarus to maintain good economic performance. “Over 9 months, GDP grew by 4.5%, well above the forecast and the global average. All industries are either growing or showing stable performance. The withdrawal of Western suppliers and manufacturers has helped us increase our presence in the Russian market. And we do not rest on our laurels. We keep interacting in order to fulfill the main  provisions of the Union State Treaty for 2024-2026,” he noted.

“The joint work of the economy ministries on the Union State program that provides for the convergence of macroeconomic policies has brought us close to the development of the Union State socio-economic forecast. We have also been actively working on other vectors: investment policy, support for entrepreneurship, bankruptcy procedures, and so on. Regular interaction helps us promptly remove obstacles to mutual trade,” the minister emphasized.

He named investment, import substitution, joint work to enter the markets of third countries, and scientific and technological partnerships as key dimensions of cooperation going forward. “I hope that today's meeting will allow us to map out steps to achieve the Union State Treaty goals and fulfill the tasks set,” the economy minister added.
