MINSK, 5 February (BelTA) - Belarus has received more than Br47 million in the "Google tax" payments in 2020, Belarusian Tax and Duties Minister Sergei Nalivaiko said at the meeting of the Tax and Duties Ministry, BelTA has learned.
"We received Br47 million in these payments in 2020 and Br88 million over three years. I would like to note very high dynamics of these payments. Every year the growth rate is more than 40%," Sergei Nalivaiko said. In his opinion, such dynamics will be remain in place in the future.
Currently, 87 foreign organizations - payers of this tax, including Google, Microsoft, Amazon, Apple, Booking.com have been registered with the tax authorities.
"Registration, tax reporting and subsequent interaction of foreign organizations with tax authorities are handled electronically through the e-VAT service on the ministry's website," the minister said.
BelTA reported earlier that as of 1 January 2018 foreign companies, which provide digital services to natural persons in Belarus, are to pay VAT. In the first year the Belarusian budget received Br15.8 million in “Google tax” payments.
