Belarus eager to participate in expos in Kyrgyzstan in 2021

MINSK, 7 December (BelTA) – Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Kyrgyzstan Andrei Strachko met with Director of the Kyrgyz exhibition organization company Biexpo Viktor Linovitsky on 7 December, representatives of the Belarusian embassy in Kyrgyzstan told BelTA.

The negotiations took place in the Embassy of Belarus in Kyrgyzstan. The sides discussed prospects of participation of Belarusian companies in expos and fairs in Kyrgyzstan in 2021. Possible avenues of cooperation between the Belarusian side and Biexpo Company were explored.

Belarus and Kyrgyzstan maintain cooperation in politics, economy, and humanitarian affairs. Representatives of the embassy noted that a Belarus-Kyrgyzstan dialogue is maintained between all the branches of power. The countries constructively cooperate in international organizations and within the framework of integration structures – the Commonwealth of Independent States, the Eurasian Economic Union, and the Collective Security Treaty Organization. Assistance on key items on the multilateral agenda is provided on a mutual basis.

Apart from that, the necessary legal base for Belarus-Kyrgyzstan cooperation has been formed. It includes interstate, intergovernmental, and interagency agreements.

The ninth session of the Belarusian-Kyrgyz intergovernmental commission on trade and economic cooperation took place in Minsk on 21 February 2020. Deputy prime ministers of the two countries took part in it. Agreements on further expanding the bilateral cooperation were reached.

An increase in Belarusian food export to Kyrgyzstan was registered in January-September 2020. On the whole, Belarusian food export totaled $20 million, 2.7 times up from January-September 2019.
