MINSK, 25 October (BelTA) – Belarus intends to get a Chinese loan as large as $500 million by the end of the year, BelTA learned from Belarusian Finance Minister Maksim Yermolovich on 25 October.
The official said: “We hope we will finish all the work on the loan by the end of the year. We expect to get the loan this year.” He remarked Belarus intends to borrow ¥3.5 billion or the equivalent of roughly $500 million.
According to the finance minister, a number of meetings have already been held. “A large group of colleagues from the China Development Bank came in Minsk to prepare the documents needed to make the final decision on the loan. All the main components of the loan are agreed. We now look forward to the decision of the Bank of China. In turn, we are preparing documents for intrastate procedures,” Maksim Yermolovich said.
