Belarus eager to develop joint projects with China’s Heilongjiang Province

MINSK, 20 June (BelTA) - Belarus is eager to develop and implement joint mutually beneficial initiatives and projects with China’s Heilongjiang Province, Belarusian Deputy Economy Minister Alesya Abramenko said at a meeting with Vice Governor of the People's Government of Heilongjiang Province Yu Jian, BelTA learned from the press service of the Economy Ministry of Belarus.

Belarus considers the visit of the delegation of Heilongjiang Province as a starting point for more in-depth trade and economic cooperation with China.

“Given the well-developed manufacturing sector and the strong agricultural base of the region, we are keen on partnering up with companies from Heilongjiang Province to manufacture agricultural products and machinery, veterinary drugs and medical equipment, in chemical manufacturing and power engineering. We are ready to develop and implement joint mutually beneficial initiatives and projects,” Alesya Abramenko said.

According to the deputy economy minister, Belarus and Heilongjiang Province are well-positioned to cooperate in science. The Belarusian side is interested in creating a joint laboratory "Advanced technologies and energy conversion equipment" within the framework of the Belt and Road initiative.

Within the framework of the meeting, the National Agency for Investment and Privatization presented investment potential and business opportunities in Belarus for Chinese companies.

With a view to deepening cooperation and establishing new ties, the parties agreed to consider holding joint investment and exhibition events in Belarus and Heilongjiang Province this year or next year.
