MOSCOW, 2 December (BelTA) – Belarus has learned how to counteract Western sanctions using compensatory measures and reciprocal measures. Deputy Prime Minister of Belarus Igor Petrishenko made the statement on the sidelines of the Second Eurasian Congress organized by the Eurasian Development Bank in Moscow on 2 December, BelTA has learned.
Asked about how Belarus counteracts sanctions, Igor Petrishenko said: “We've certainly learned how.” He said that the complex of measures Belarus had come up with had allowed minimizing the damage caused by Western sanctions. He reminded about Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko's recent statement. Aleksandr Lukashenko said Belarus had not calculated the damage because the cost of the calculations would exceed the losses caused by the sanctions.
Igor Petrishenko said the government is working to counteract sanctions and takes compensatory measures and reciprocal ones. “We will certainly coordinate our work with partners in the Eurasian Economic Union,” he said.
