MINSK, 24 May (BelTA) – The production of components for Russian aircraft may begin in Belarus, BelTA learned from the Belarusian Transport and Communications Ministry.
According to the source, the use of aircraft of Russian make and the organization of transportation to Asia with assistance of logistic operators are under consideration. The possibility of using the Russian aircraft IL 96-400T is under consideration among other things. Work is in progress on the possibility of starting the production of import-substituting components for the aircraft Sukhoi Superjet 100, MC-21 and their maintenance, the ministry's Aviation Department told BelTA.
It was noted that Belarusian air carriers had redirected their operations towards the eastern direction and the southern one due to closed skies. Regular flights are offered to 16 airports in eight countries. Three air carriers offer regular flights to the Minsk National Airport.
In order to stabilize the financial and economic state of aviation organizations, anticrisis measures are being taken to redirect export flows, optimize costs, and improve financial discipline. To preserve the worker collectives is the key task.
