MINSK, 29 January (BelTA) – Türkiye was the third-largest supplier of textile raw materials on the Belarusian Universal Commodity Exchange (BUCE) in 2025, behind Russia and India, the BUCE press service told BelTA following a seminar on cooperation with Türkiye, held at the administration of the FEZ Mogilev under the auspices of the Belarusian-Turkish Business Council.
According to BUCE, in 2025, Turkish companies regularly used the exchange to supply a wide range of textile raw materials to Belarus, including cotton yarn, pure wool top, calico, merino wool, and viscose thread. As a result, the total value of exchange transactions in this product group amounted to $1.8 million, which is significantly higher than the corresponding figure for 2024 ($60,000).
Overall, at the end of 2025, the exchange trade between Belarus and Türkiye increased by 27%, reaching $26.5 million. Moreover, the export of Belarusian goods accounted for 93% of this amount. In particular, the Turkish market received supplies of softwood lumber, wooden stakes, flax fiber and hards, skimmed and whole dry milk, dry whey, wet blue leather, and ferrous metal scrap.
As of 29 January 2026, 126 Turkish residents were accredited with BUCE, with 22 of them joining the Belarusian exchange platform in 2025-2026.
Founded in 2004, the Belarusian Universal Commodity Exchange conducted its first trading session in June 2005. BUCE is one of the largest commodity exchanges in Eastern Europe. Its main function is to assist Belarusian enterprises with export and foreign companies with entering the Belarusian market. BUCE sells a wide range of metal, forestry and agricultural products, industrial and consumer goods.
