MINSK, 19 September (BelTA) – Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to China Yuri Senko met with Governor of China's Shaanxi Province Zhao Yide, BelTA has learned.
Yuri Senko and Zhao Yide discussed the expansion of Belarus' interaction with Shaanxi Province in trade, economy, logistics, and humanitarian affairs. Interregional cooperation was discussed as well as ways to step up investment cooperation. The ambassador suggested setting up a subpark of Shaanxi Province in the China-Belarus industrial park Great Stone since many companies residing in the park represent Shaanxi Province. The meeting took place as a delegation of the Belarusian embassy visited Shaanxi Province to participate in the 29th China Yangling Agricultural Hi-Tech Fair.
Yuri Senko also met with Rector of the Northwest Agriculture and Forestry University (NWAFU) LI Xingwang. The Belarusian embassy's delegation held a series of negotiations with Shaanxi Province's largest companies, including Shaanxi Automobile Corporation, FAST Corporation (gearbox manufacturer), a food distribution company, Shaanxi Aerospace Power HI-Tech Company (development of aircraft engines), and the province's largest travel agency – Shaanxi Tourism Group. Creation and expansion of joint manufacturing enterprises, ways to increase Belarus' export to China, and a number of specific cooperation projects were discussed.
Shaanxi Province is located in central China and is home to 23.75 million people.
