Belarus, China follow modern trends in age of online sales

MINSK DISTRICT, 6 July (BelTA) – In an age of electronic commerce and online marketing Belarus and China follow modern trends. First Deputy Prime Minister of Belarus Nikolai Snopkov made the statement during the ceremony held in the China-Belarus industrial park Great Stone to launch Belarus' national pavilion on the Chinese online platforms Jingdong и Douyin, BelTA has learned.

Nikolai Snopkov said: “The year 2022 marks an important date – the 30th anniversary since Belarus-China diplomatic relations were established. Belarus-China interaction evolved greatly in this period: from friendship in the 1990s to modern, all-round, strategic partnership, all-weather friendship and iron-clad brotherhood. Belarus was one of the first countries to support the Belt and Road initiative and takes an active part in its implementation now. It is a strong impulse in the advancement of cooperation with China in trade, economy, politics, science and technology, culture, information, and other spheres.”

In his words, the China-Belarus industrial park Great Stone is the largest project of the Belt and Road initiative. “It is a pearl of the Silk Road, a full-fledged platform for all-round cooperation,” the official stressed.

Nikolai Snopkov noted that in an age of electronic commerce and online marketing Belarus and China follow modern trends. The opening of Belarus' national digital pavilion by the industrial park confirms it. “The project's implementation will allow our Chinese friends to get to know our country better, to get familiar with its national identity, and buy Belarusian goods,” he remarked.

A ceremony to open Belarus' national pavilion on the Chinese online platforms Jingdong and Douyin took place in the China-Belarus industrial park Great Stone on 6 July. The event was timed to the 30th anniversary since Belarus-China diplomatic relations were established. The launch of the national pavilion practically signifies the start of Belarusian electronic commerce on the Chinese market. In addition to the trade functionality of these platforms Chinese users will be able to discover places of interest, culture and traditions, wonders of nature and history of Belarus. Various videos will be published to highlight attractive peculiarities of Belarus for the Chinese audience.
