Belarus, China discuss business prospects

MINSK, 8 May (BelTA) - The Minsk Office of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BelCCI) hosted a meeting aimed at deepening the economic partnership between Belarus and China. Director General of the Minsk Office of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Sergei Nabeshko and representatives of Belarusian business met with the mayor of Dezhou, Shandong Province, China and a delegation of Chinese entrepreneurs, BelTA learned from the Minsk Office of the BelCCI.

The Chinese delegation included heads of the leading enterprises of the region, whose aggregate trade exceeds $2 billion. The event was an important step in the implementation of strategic agreements between the two countries.

The parties discussed the expansion of trade and economic interaction within the Belt and Road initiatives, opportunities for cooperation in industry, energy, construction, and high technologies, prospects for increasing mutual supplies and localization of production, and also the introduction of Chinese innovations in Belarusian enterprises to enhance their competitiveness.

Special emphasis was placed on projects that can create new jobs and attract investment in the regions of Belarus. Chinese companies presented cases of their technologies, expressing their readiness to adapt them to the needs of the Belarusian market.

The parties agreed to organize mutual business missions and participation in specialized exhibitions (including events in Minsk and Shandong), to hold a series of presentations of the investment and cultural potential of both countries, as well as to work out pilot projects in green energy, mechanical engineering, and composite materials.

Sergei Nabeshko said: “Belarus is interested in the transfer of advanced technologies and the development of joint productions. I am confident that today's dialogue will become the basis for long-term projects that will strengthen our economies.”

The meeting confirmed the mutual interest of Belarus and China in creating sustainable partnership ties.
