MINSK, 4 February (BelTA) – BKM Holding designers are working on public transport with partial automation, Director General Taras Murog said in an interview with BelTA.
“At first a self-driving technology will be used for trams assembled for Minsk. After that, in 2025, we will join forces with a Moscow company to partially automate wheeled vehicles,” said Taras Murog.
The company is constantly working on expanding its model range. The trend of recent years is moving away from express-charging to night charging of electric buses, and a change in energy storage sources. BKM Holding has also begun producing low-floor trams. In particular, single-section T811 trams have already entered service in Minsk. Three-section T856 trams will soon be launched.
Another promising model is the T701 tram; its production was mastered in 2024. It can be used in all regions of the CIS countries. This tram has a completely new first-grade body, where all the technical solutions of the fully low-floor T811 tram are applied.
