MINSK, 14 January (BelTA) – The Belarusian passenger car manufacturer BelGee plans to sell 15,000-20,000 cars in Russia in 2021, BelGee Director General Gennady Svidersky told journalists on 14 January, BelTA has learned.
"The shareholders will approve the annual plan in March. We forecast the sales in the range of 15,000 to 20,000. Contracts have been signed for 15,000," Gennady Svidersky said.
In 2020, BelGee posted sales at 23,500 cars. Of them about 9,000 cars were sold in Belarus, the rest in Russia. The output was 20,400 cars.
“This means that as of 1 January we had almost zero inventory stock. We had the strategy of 2020, which implied working only under contracts to shield the company against exchange rate fluctuations and other things,” Gennady Svidersky noted.
The company reported profitability of 5% in 2020. "We had sales profits at Br38 million. The net profit was less," Gennady Svidersky said.
