Belarus' banking cybersecurity system to undergo changes

MINSK, 18 October (BelTA) – Approaches to maintaining cybersecurity in the banking sector will be revised, Deputy Chairman of the Board of the National Bank of the Republic of Belarus Dmitry Kalechits said at the international forum on information technologies in banking industry BankIT 2022, BelTA has learned.

“Changes will be introduced to banking cybersecurity. The mechanism for providing information about incidents by banks to the regulator has already been clarified. There are plans to create an integrated system for rapid exchange of information between interested parties in order to increase the effectiveness of preventing and combating cyber crime,” Dmitry Kalechits said.

As far as the Belarusian payment market is concerned, a major change awaiting the market is the full-scale introduction of an instant payment system for legal entities and individuals, primarily B2B transfers, including cross-border ones.
