MOSCOW, 8 April (BelTA) – Belarus’ Ambassador to Russia Dmitry Krutoi was on a working trip to Russia’s Kamchatka Territory on 5-6 April, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian diplomatic mission.
After negotiations with Kamchatka Territory Governor Vladimir Solodov on the first day of the visit, the ambassador toured a number of local enterprises to discuss cooperation prospects. Thus, on 5 April, he visited one of the region’s largest fishing enterprises - the Lenin fishing collective farm.
The company runs a fleet, coastal fish processing factories, warehouses, and refrigeration facilities. The company harvests Alaska pollock, cod, herring, plaice, squid, and Pacific saury in the Bering Sea and the Okhotsk Sea. The company actively cooperates with Belarusian food producers and processors and supplies raw materials for the production of compound fertilizers to the Belarusian National Biotechnology Corporation. “We discussed the logistics of direct supplies of Kamchatka fish to Belarus. As the enterprise was denied access to the markets of unfriendly countries, it is extremely interested in developing cooperation with Belarus. The ambassador is already working on instructions to Belarusian companies interested in cooperation,” the press service said.
The second day of the working trip began with a visit to the Magistral company that sells original spare parts for MAZ equipment. The company is ready to run all kinds of maintenance and repair services for Minsk Automobile Plant vehicles as it always keeps a sufficient amount of spare parts in its warehouses.
When the Kamchatka Territory governor learned that Belarusians do not consume enough omega-3-polyunsaturated fatty acids, Tymlatsky Fish Factory was included in the program of the ambassador’s visit. Dmitry Krutoi inspected the high-tech workshop that makes food supplements from wild Kamchatka salmon. “We discussed the logistics and terms of supplies to Belarus, cooperation prospects and plans to expand such supplies,” the diplomatic mission noted.
On the recommendation of the governor, the ambassador also visited the Zaozerny dairy company. Kamchatka meets 40% of its needs for dairy products and intends to significantly increase dairy production using the best practices of Belarus. Director of the enterprise Vasily Milovanov suggested a joint innovative project to Belarusian partners - the production of potato flour for Asian markets. As the press service informed, Dmitry Krutoi promised to give thought to this idea.
