MINSK, 17 June (BelTA) – Belarus is always open to proposals on economic and investment cooperation. Belarusian Economy Minister Aleksandr Chervyakov made the statement as he met with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkey to Belarus Mustafa Ozcan and representatives of the Foreign Economic Relations Board of Turkey (DEIK), BelTA has learned.
According to Aleksandr Chervyakov, Belarus has always set a high value on the advancement of international cooperation in various spheres and is in favor of a permanent dialogue with all the countries about a broad range of matters.
The economy minister stressed: “Our regular contacts demonstrate the strive for raising the effectiveness of trade and economic cooperation with Turkey, enable the necessary conditions for its invigoration, and also allow responding to changes of the market situation and finding new forms of work.”
During the meeting DEIK representatives expressed interest in specific investment projects in Belarus. Director of the National Agency of Investment and Privatization (NAIP) Dmitry Krasovsky expressed readiness to present examples of such projects at a dedicated meeting.
The Belarusian economy minister assured that the ministry does its best to make business operation terms in Belarus as comfortable as possible. Although a lot changed in the investment climate for the better in the last ten years, there are plans to accomplish even more than that.
In his words, work on amending the law on investments is in progress now. The comprehensive adjustment is meant to better protect the investor's property rights, including by introducing a stabilization proviso. It guarantees that the investor, who signs an investment contract with Belarus, will enjoy stable taxation terms.
Later on Aleksandr Chervyakov talked at length with every businessperson to discuss prospects of cooperation and the establishment of contacts for every project, including in the spheres of mechanical engineering, infrastructure construction, logistics, and manufacturing of chemical products.
According to the Economy Ministry press service, the meeting proceeded in a constructive manner, a benevolent atmosphere, and with prospects of future mutually beneficial cooperation.
