Belarus' agricultural export up by 5.3% in Q1 2021

MINSK, 4 May (BelTA) – Belarus' export of agricultural and food products in Q1 2021 amounted to $1.5 billion, up by 5.3% year-on-year, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Agriculture and Food Ministry.

“In January-March 2021, Belarus exported its agricultural products to 88 countries (in the same period of 2020 – to 83 countries), increasing supplies to almost all regions,” the press service said.

Export to the CIS countries, including Russia, inched up by 0.4%. Supplies to the countries of Asia and Oceania soared by 70.1%, to the EU – by 38.4%, to the Americas and Caribbean countries – by 82.6%, and to African countries – by 78.3%. All in all, in Q1 2021, Belarus' export to non-CIS countries surged by 47.8% year-on-year.

Export of milk and dairy products rose by 0.3%, beef – by 10.3%, sausage products and finished meat products – by 9.2%, fish and fish products – by 15.6%, eggs – by 48.6%, potatoes – by 15.3%, and rapeseed oil – by 70.3%.
