MINSK, 6 June (BelTA) - Science-intensive and high-tech goods account for more than a third of Belarusian exports, Belarusian Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Yuri Ambrazevich said at the international conference “Belarus’ capacity building for the Sustainable Development Goals: Strategies and partnerships in the context of modern challenges and climate agenda” in the China-Belarus industrial park Great Stone on 6 June, BelTA has learned.
He stressed that Belarus pays special attention to Sustainable Development Goal 9 that seeks to build resilient infrastructure, promote sustainable industrialization and foster innovation and is achieved by intensifying scientific research and building technological potential.
"The country has 25 innovation infrastructure entities, including 16 technology parks and 8 technology transfer centers. There is Belarusian Innovation Fund. More than a third of Belarusian exports are science-intensive and high-tech products," the deputy minister said.
He invited foreign partners and friends to more actively explore this very sector for possible investments and create joint platforms and incubators in Belarus.
Yuri Ambrazevich cited the examples of the most successful IT projects. "I am sure that many people have used and continue to use these products. They were all the fruit of labor of successful startups once launched in Belarus,” he said.
Yuri Ambrazevich also emphasized that the conference is held in the Great Stone Industrial Park. It is a flagship project, a gem o the Belt and Road Initiative and a calling card of our country.
