MOSCOW, 4 June (BelTA) – All the goals of the Eurasian Economic Union Treaty are supposed to be reached by 2025. Chairman of the Board of the Eurasian Economic Commission Mikhail Myasnikovich made the statement at a conference held as part of the St Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF) on 4 June to discuss “The progress and challenges of integration within the EAEU and the new development paradigm”, BelTA has learned.
Mikhail Myasnikovich said that all the goals specified by the Eurasian Economic Union Treaty of 2014 are supposed to be reached by 2025. In his words, the strategic directions of Eurasian integration for the period till 2025 that the EAEU presidents approved in late 2020 are geared towards accomplishing this goal.
The official said: “Where are we today? As far as merchandise trade is concerned, we are talking about 75% of the target specified by the treaty. As for the market of services and the workforce market, we are talking about two thirds, more than 60%. The financial market is lagging slightly behind, about 40% according to estimates of specialists. No doubt we should work harder in this regard in order to equalize positions and move forward.”
