MINSK, 22 January (BelTA) – Ambassador of Belarus to the People's Republic of China Yuri Senko met with President of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) Jin Liqun on 21 January, BelTA learned from the Belarusian embassy in Beijing.
The parties discussed the projects under consideration of the bank, and also promising areas of cooperation. The Belarusian side emphasized the timeliness of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank's adoption of the program to mitigate the consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic. The Belarusian ambassador expressed the hope for the bank's early approval to provide financial resources to support the healthcare system of Belarus.
The parties also confirmed the importance of continuing work on the ongoing infrastructure projects in Belarus. In particular, the matter concerns the reconstruction of the R46 Lepel-Polotsk highway, the construction of the railway connection Minsk-Great Stone Industrial Park-Minsk National Airport.
