Agricultural producer prices in EAEU down by 0.3% in January

MOSCOW, 3 March (BelTA) - In January this year agricultural producer prices in the Eurasian Economic Union edged down by 0.3% over December 2023, BelTA learned from the press service of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC).

"The producer price index for agricultural products in the Eurasian Economic Union amounted to 106.9% in January 2024 compared to January 2023. Compared to December 2023, prices decreased by 0.3%, while producer prices for crop products rose by 1.7% while prices for livestock products went down by 1.3%," the press service said.

According to the EEC, the agricultural producer prices went down in Armenia (by 0.7%) and Russia (by 0.6%) in January over December 2023. Prices increased in Kyrgyzstan (by 1.6%), Belarus (by 1.4%) and Kazakhstan (by 0.2%).

In annual terms, in January agricultural producer prices decreased by 3% in Belarus, by 6.6% in Armenia, and by 4.8% in Kazakhstan. An increase was recorded in Russia (by 10.5%) and Kyrgyzstan (by 0.4%).
