
MINSK, 9 October (BelTA) – Nearly 600 commercial entities have signed an agreement on cooperation in improving the efficiency of sales of goods of Belarusian make, BelTA learned from Belarusian Deputy Antimonopoly Regulation and Trade Minister Svetlana Korotkevich.
The Antimonopoly Regulation and Trade Ministry in association with concerns, manufacturers, and trade organizations has signed the agreement on cooperation in improving the efficiency of sales of goods of Belarusian make. “The ministry works quite hard in this area together with interested parties. Practically 600 commercial entities have signed the agreement,” Svetlana Korotkevich said.
On 9 October the Antimonopoly Regulation and Trade Ministry hosted a seminar on ways to increase sales of goods of Belarusian make. The seminar promoted quality interaction between manufacturers and retailers. Matters of interest to consumers were also on the agenda. “We organize these events in order to ensure the presence of quality products on shelves of our shops. Our goal is to work out joint mutually beneficial approaches, consider issues, and determine a precise vector for interaction till the end of the year. There are minor details that need to be addressed promptly,” the deputy antimonopoly regulation and trade minister noted.
The retail industry’s preparations for New Year Eve’s and Christmas celebrations were one of the items to consider. “We would very much like our retail chains to offer a broad range of Belarusian products to our customers. First and foremost confectionery. It is necessary to find mutually beneficial approaches that will allow fulfilling the head of state’s instruction to fill our retail outlets with goods of Belarusian make,” Svetlana Korotkevich stressed.
In her words, the share of Belarusian goods has to be at least 85% in the food group and at least 38% in the non-foods group. The overall figure for all goods has to be 63%.
