MINSK, 30 September (BelTA) - A common digital space will facilitate removal of barriers in the market of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), Belarusian Deputy Economy Minister Alesya Abramenko said during the panel session of the Eurasian Economic Forum in Yerevan, BelTA learned.
Alesya Abramenko took part in the discussion of the prospects for digital development in the EAEU. During the discussion, special attention was paid to the electronic platforms and existing barriers to trade via them.
Alesya Abramenko noted that the obstacles to Belarusian business identified over the past two years are mainly digital in nature. The matter is about the transit of timber, the supply of alcoholic beverages, medicines for veterinary use, elevator installation services, and the electronic vehicle passport systems. "I would like to urge the member states to remember their union obligations to partners as they prepare new working conditions for business based on digital solutions," Alesya Abramenko said.
Varos Simonyan, Member of the Board – Minister in charge of Internal Markets, Informatization, Information and Communication Technologies of the EEC, announced the development of a methodology for assessing the impact of barriers on mutual trade, which will facilitate the integration of the EAEU countries.
In addition, the Eurasian Economic Commission presented the information project "Showcase of Digital Projects", implemented at the initiative of Belarus’ Ministry, on national digital solutions in the Eurasian Economic Union. Now the EEC website presents 96 digital solutions, 57 of them are Belarusian.
