World Sambo Cup in Moscow to be held without fans

MINSK, 23 November (BelTA) – The World Sambo Cup “Anatoly Kharlampiev Memorial” 2020 in Moscow will take place without fans in attendance, BelTA learned from the website of the Russian Sambo Federation.

The decision comes due to the epidemiological situation in Russia and in accordance with the Rospotrebnadzor requirements. The World Sambo Cup was due to take place in March 2020 but was rescheduled for 18-19 December due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Men's, women's and combat sambo competitions will be held in the small sports arena of the Luzhniki Stadium. About 300 athletes from 15 countries are expected to take part in the tournament. These will be wrestlers from Belarus, Colombia, China, France, Italy, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Mexico, Morocco, Moldova, Romania, Russia, Serbia, Uzbekistan and Venezuela.
