Team Belarus back home as 2025 Beach Soccer World Cup silver medalists

MINSK, 13 May (BelTA) – The Belarusian national team have returned home from the 2025 Beach Soccer World Cup which took place in Seychelles, BelTA has learned.

Nicolas Alvarado's team made it to the top three at the 2025 Beach Soccer World Cup for the first time in its history. The silver medalists were welcomed back at Minsk National Airport by their friends and loved ones, the leadership of the Belarusian Sport and Tourism Ministry, representatives of the Beach Soccer Federation and the National Olympic Training Center for Team Sports, and also students of the Belarusian State University of Physical Education.

At the 2025 Beach Soccer World Cup group stage Belarus beat Seychelles (6-3), Japan (6-3) and Guatemala (12-3). Belarus proved stronger over Iran (4-3) in the quarterfinal, and Senegal (5-2) in the semifinal. In the final Belarus lost to Brazil 3-4.

Team Belarus goalkeeper Mikhail Avgustov won the adidas Golden Glove, while Ihar Bryshtsel got the adidas Silver Ball and the adidas Golden Scorer awards.
