MINSK, 18 February (BelTA) – World number 114 Aliaksandra Sasnovich of Belarus lost 4-6, 3-6 to France's world number 38 Kristina Mladenovic in the round of Last 32 at the Dubai Duty Free Tennis 2020, BelTA has learned.
The match lasted for an hour and 32 minutes. Aliaksandra Sasnovich came through the qualifying to reach the main draw. Kristina Mladenovic will face world number three Karolina Pliskova of the Czech Republic for the spot in the quarterfinal.
Belarus' world number 13 Aryna Sabalenka will open the tournament against Greece's world number 21 Maria Sakkari.
At the Open 13 Provence in Marseille, France, Belarus' Ilya Ivashka (137) will play Croatia's Marin Cilic (39) in the round of Last 32. Belarus' Egor Gerasimov (72) will face Dennis Novak of Austria (95). Both the Belarusian players had to come through the qualifying stage.
In the round of Last 16 (doubles event) the Belarusian-Israeli tandem Andrei Vasilevski and Jonathan Erlich will take on Ukraine's Denys Molchanov and Hsieh Cheng-peng of Chinese Taipei.
