MINSK, 11 August (BelTA) – Belarus' world number 11 Aryna Sabalenka defeated U.S. world number 80 Madison Brengle 6-1, 6-7 (5-7), 6-2 in the opener of the Top Seed Open in Lexington, BelTA has learned.
Today former world number one Victoria Azarenka of Belarus (currently ranked 58) will face Venus Williams in the round of Last 32. Belarus' Olga Govortsova (World No.135), after a success in the qualifying, will take on Bethanie Mattek-Sands of the United States.
The tournament in Lexington will be over on 16 August. The US Open is scheduled for 31 August-13 September.
