European Games: Belarus to earn two boxing medals in Minsk

MINSK, 27 June (BelTA) – Belarus' boxing team have guaranteed two medals at the 2nd European Games in Minsk, BelTA has learned.

Belarus' Dzmitry Asanau won his Light -60kg quarterfinal to get through to the semifinals and guarantee at least a bronze medal. In the semis the Belarusian will face Armenia's Karen Tonakanyan.

Uladzislau Smiahlikau took wins in the Men's Heavy, -91kg against Finland's Krenau Aliu 5-0 and Georgia's Nikoloz Begadze 3-2 to secure a spot in the semifinal against UK's Chev Clarke.

A total of 316 boxers (male and females) are competing in 15 medal events in Minsk
