MINSK, 2 March (BelTA) – Belarusian biathletes will take part in the forthcoming Russian Biathlon Cup and the Russian Biathlon Championships, the press service of the Russian Biathlon Union said.
The competitions in Ufa on 12-16 March will feature six events: men's and women's sprints (Russian Biathlon Cup), pursuits and mass starts.
The Russian Biathlon Championships in Tyumen are scheduled for 30 March-3 April. The program of competitions will include two sprint, two mass start and four relay events.
“The decision on the participation of Belarusian athletes in the Russian Biathlon Cup and the Russian Biathlon Championships was made by mutual agreement with Chairman of the Belarusian Biathlon Federation Andrian Tsibulsky. We seek no confrontation with anyone, we proceed solely from the interests of the athletes of our countries. The participation of Belarusian biathletes will certainly raise the level of the competitions that will be held in Ufa and Tyumen,” President of the Russian Biathlon Union Viktor Maigurov said.
