Belarus’ Zhdan claims champion title at Tatarstan Rais Cup

MINSK, 24 November (BelTA) - Belarusian athletes have won two medals at international Tatarstan Rais Cup Sambo Grand Prix tournament, BelTA has learned.

Belarus was represented in Kazan by two sambo fighters. Daniela Zhdan, a two-time world champion, won gold in the under 65kg category, defeating Russia's Karina Cherevan in the final. In the under 80kg category, Karyna Shut secured silver; the Belarusian athlete was defeated by Russia's Daria Rechkalova in the decisive match.
