MINSK, 30 April (BelTA) – Yauheni Bahutski of Belarus won the international discus throw tournament in Brest and qualified for the Tokyo Olympic Games, BelTA learned from the Belarusian Athletics Federation.
The athlete from Minsk Oblast threw 66.3 meters in his best attempt. His Olympic berth became 19th for Belarusian athletes. Silver went to Eduard Mikhan from Gomel Oblast – 51.44 meters.
The women's event was won by Sviatlana Siarova from Mogilev Oblast – 56.36 meters. Minsk's Elena Seredich took silver with 51.93 meters. Bronze went to Vlada Zhavarankava from Mogilev Oblast – 51.73 meters.
The European Throwing Cup will take place in Split, Croatia on 8-9 May.
