Belarus’ Mikhalchuk wins gold at European Taekwondo Grand Prix Final 2025

MINSK, 7 December (BelTA) - Palina Mikhalchuk of Belarus won the European Taekwondo Grand Prix Final for athletes under 18, held in Bosnia and Herzegovina, BelTA has learned.

The Belarusian took top honors in the over 68kg category. In the opening round, Palina Mikhalchuk advanced past Croatia’s Sara Zizic, and in the semifinal she defeated the top-seeded Czech athlete Alice Binova. In the final bout, Palina Mikhalchuk triumphed over another Croatian representative, Lorena Zanko. The day before, Belarus’ Mikita Belavyi secured victory in the boys’ under 45kg final at the European Taekwondo Grand Prix Final.

Earlier in 2025, Palina Mikhalchuk won bronze at the European Junior Championships and also earned podium finishes at international tournaments in Albania and Bulgaria. One year ago, the Belarusian athlete placed third at the World Taekwondo Junior Championships.
