Belarus’ Maryia Kandratsieva wins 2026 World Sambo Cup in Yerevan

MINSK, 12 April (BelTA) - Belarusian athletes have won four medals at the 2026 World Sambo Cup in Yerevan, Armenia, BelTA has learned.
The tally for our team stands at one gold and three bronze medals. The only top-tier medal was brought home by Maryia Kandratsieva. On her way to the podium in the weight category over 80 kg, the Belarusian defeated one representative of Kazakhstan and two athletes from Russia.
Arseny Malitsky (over 98 kg), Anfisa Kapaeva (up to 50 kg), and Vera Tseliuk (up to 59 kg) clinched bronze medals.
In total, approximately 300 athletes from 21 countries took part in the 2026 World Sambo Cup, competing in 33 medal events.
