MINSK, 29 September (BelTA) – Belarus' world number 71 Ilya Ivashka has progressed into the Sofia Open quarterfinal seeing off Bulgaria's world number 23 Grigor Dimitrov, 6-4, 7-6 (7-3), in an hour and 53 minutes, BelTA has learned.
The Belarusian will next play either world number 31 Holder Rune of Denmark or Italy's world number 45 Lorenzo Sonego.
In the opener Ilya Ivashka outlasted world number 94 Mikael Ymer of Sweden, 7-6 (10-8), 4-6, 7-5, in three hours and 23 minutes.
The hard-court competitions at Arena Armeec in the capital of Bulgaria will be over on 2 October.
