Belarus’ Falei powers into W75 Porto quarterfinals with straight-sets win

MINSK, 27 February (BelTA) – Belarusian tennis player Aliona Falei has won her second match at the W75 Porto 2026 Tennis Tournament in Portugal, BelTA has learned.

In the Round of 16 on 26 February, the Belarusian beat Eva Guerrero Alvarez of Spain in straight sets, 6-0, 6-2. At the start of the competition, Aliona Falei also confidently defeated Italian Camilla Rosatello, 6-1, 6-2. In the quarterfinals on 28 February, she will compete against Ayla Aksu of Türkiye.

Earlier, two other Belarusian tennis players, Anna Kubareva and Yuliya Hatouka, became quarterfinalists at the W15 Sharm ElSheikh 2026 Tennis Tournament in Egypt. On 28 february, they will face each other for a spot in the semifinals.

On 27 February, in the doubles quarterfinals at the Megasaray Hotels Open 2026 tournament in Türkiye’s Antalya, Belarus’ Iryna Shymanovich and Russia’s Maria Kozyreva defeated the Egyptian-Greek tandem of Mayar Sherif and Despina Papamichail, 6-3, 6-3.
