Belarus compete in 2025 European Judo Juniors Championships
MINSK, 4 September (BelTA) - Belarusian athletes are competing at the 2025 European Judo Juniors Championships in Bratislava, Slovakia, BelTA has learned.
On the first competition day Aryna Makeyenka (-48kg) of Belarus kicked off her campaign with a victory over Christina Christophorou of Cyprus but then lost to Italy's Sofia Mazzola in the quarterfinal. Emiliya Ksionzhyk (-57kg) lost to Erisa Brahimaj of Albania in the opening round.
Yagor Talaka, Anton Dubovik (both -73 kg), Yauheni Harbachou (-81kg), Viyaleta Fiodarava (-63 kg), and Hanna Sitnik (-70 kg) will compete for medals on 5 September, while Yauheni Morau (-100 kg) and Slaviana Rylkevich (-78 kg) - on 6 September.
The mixed team tournament in Slovakia will be held on 7 September. In total, more than 360 athletes from 43 countries are competing in the championships.
