Belarus claim gold at UIPM 2019 Youth World Championships U19

MINSK, 24 July (BelTA) – Kseniya Klimiankova of Belarus secured gold at the UIPM 2019 Youth World Championships U19 in Sofia, Bulgaria, BelTA learned from the Belarusian Modern Pentathlon Federation.

There was no hint of the winning potential of Kseniya Klimiankova in the swimming pool, where she ranked 26th. However, the Belarusian managed to get back to the list of leaders in fencing. The Belarusian also showcased a solid performance in the combined event of pistol shooting and cross country running. Kseniya Klimiankova scored a total of 1,032 points to top the podium. Silver went to Rusia's Amina Tagirova (1,022 points). Bronze was collected by Yoon Yangji of Korea (1,016).

The Belarusian team of Yekaterina Etina and Kseniya Klimiankova claimed silver in the women's relay. Ivan Prytkov, Vladislav Melkozerov, and Viktor Tevnyansky secured silver in the men's team standings.
