Belarus claim C2 Junior Men 500 gold at 2025 ICF Junior and U23 World Championships

MINSK, 27 July (BelTA) – Belarus’ Yahor Auchynnikau and Vadzim Lychou claimed gold in the C2 Junior Men 500 event at the 2025 ICF Junior and U23 Canoe Sprint World Championships in Montemor-o-Velho, Portugal, BelTA has learned.

The Belarusian duo dominated their semifinal on 26 July before securing victory in Sunday's final with a time of 1:49.16, finishing 0.4 seconds ahead of China's silver medalists. Spain completed the podium in third place.

Earlier on Sunday, Belarus' team of Maryia Papichych, Palina Sobal, Palina Sukharenka and Hanna Marzhyna placed fifth in the C4 Junior Women 500 final.
