MINSK, 4 January (BelTA) – Belarus' world number 27 Victoria Azarenka dispatched Spain's world number 8 Paula Badosa, 6-3, 6-2, at the start of the Adelaide International 1, BelTA has learned.
The match lasted for 1 hour and 15 minutes. Victoria Azarenka will face Australia's world number 263 Priscilla Hon for a spot in the quarterfinal. On 3 January, Belarus' Victoria Azarenka and Paula Badosa of Spain moved to the second round of the Adelaide International doubles event, after seeing off the Japanese pair Shuko Aoyama and Ena Shibahara, 6-4, 6-2.
World number 2 Aryna Sabalenka of Belarus will kick off her run from the second round against world number 100 Kaja Juvan of Slovenia.
