Russian government drafts new Union State program on dealing with Chernobyl aftermath
MOSCOW, 5 May (BelTA) – The Russian government has approved a draft of a new program on overcoming the consequences of the accident at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant within the framework of the Union State of Belarus and Russia. The relevant resolution has been published on the Russian official legislation registry website, BelTA has learned.
“To approve the draft program of joint activities of Belarus and Russia within the framework of the Union State in order to overcome the negative consequences of the Chernobyl nuclear power plant catastrophe, submitted by the Russian Emergencies Ministry and coordinated with interested federal executive bodies and the Belarusian side,” the document reads.
The Russian Emergencies Ministry has been instructed to submit the draft of this program to the Union State Council of Ministers in accordance with the established procedure.
