Russia donates 10,000 coronavirus testing kits to Belarus

MINSK, 6 April (BelTA) – Russia has donated diagnostic materials for Belarus to run 10,000 tests for COVID-19, Russian ambassador to Belarus Dmitry Mezentsev told the media, BelTA has learned.

Testing kits were delivered by a refrigerator truck with a temperature control system of minus 20 degrees.

According to Dmitry Mezentsev, Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin and head of the coordination council to control the incidence of coronavirus infection Tatyana Golikova decided to allocate diagnostic materials enough to do 10,000 tests. “This is another good sign of a long-standing friendship between the brotherly nations,” the ambassador said.

“At the request of the Russian embassy, the delivery was carried out by the Belarusian company Santa-Bremor, which has special refrigerated vehicles in its fleet. It is very important in such conditions to guarantee the safety of medicines, so that they would not be damaged and would be ready for use in Belarus,” he explained.

The testing kits arrived in Belarus on 4 April.
