Refugee crisis on Belarus-Poland border called real human tragedy

MINSK, 18 November (BelTA) – The developments on the Belarus-Poland border became a real human tragedy, Belarus' Emergencies Minister Vadim Sinyavsky told reporters, BelTA has learned.

“Every person in need deserves prompt and high-quality help that can save his/her life. Of course, what happened on the border of Belarus and Poland is a great tragedy for refugees. It is also tragic that some people got the wrong idea of what is happening on the border,” Vadim Sinyavsky said.

Employees of the Emergencies Ministry are working on the border. “The Belarusian rescuers quickly responded to this emergency, there is no other way to call it. They are helping to deliver and distribute humanitarian aid among these people, maintain security and prevent all kinds of emergencies,” the minister noted. Employees of the Emergencies Ministry will remain on the border until the situation is resolved.
