MINSK, 25 January (BelTA) – State Secretary of the Union State Grigory Rapota gave his take on how to implement integration projects between companies of Belarus and Russia as he spoke to journalists on 25 January, BelTA has learned.
The principles underpinning integration should be viable and mutually beneficial, Grigory Rapota said. In his words, the idea of integration of companies is good in itself. This is a market-based mechanism of interaction and an important element of the single manufacturing policy. “However, I believe that it makes more sense when initiative comes from companies themselves, when they find a partner (Russians in Belarus and Belarusians in Russia) and forge partnerships based on economic and technology considerations, like it was with production of Belarusian tractors in Cherepovets,” Grigory Rapota said.
In his words, such projects are often politically charged. “This is also good, but it is not enough. At the same time, an economic motivation upheld by our political structures is a promising way to go,” he noted.
Grigory Rapota took part in the national meeting of the academia at the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus on the occasion of the Day of Belarusian Science.
