Police preserve public order at mass event in Minsk on 30 July

MINSK, 31 July (BelTA) – The police preserved public order at the mass event that took place in the Park of People's Friendship in Minsk on 30 July, Spokesperson for the Belarusian Ministry of Internal Affairs Olga Chemodanova said in her Telegram channel, BelTA has learned.

“The Minsk police preserved public order. They did not allow any violations of the law,” Olga Chemodanova said.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs summed up the number of participants. “A total of 18,250 people walked through security metal detectors,” the spokesperson informed.

In line with the Electoral Code, local authorities upon agreement with respective election commissions determine the locations for holding campaign events by presidential candidates and their proxies. These events can be held from 8:00 till 22:00. Local authorities and the police are responsible for maintaining public order and security during these events. Candidates and their proxies should contribute to maintaining public order.
