MINSK, 13 April (BelTA) - Poland has begun building another barrier on its border with Belarus, RMF24 reports.

According to the outlet, the additional barrier is intended to reinforce the existing fence. The new structure will include several components.

“It consists of a four-meter fence along the service road topped with barbed wire, as well as additional coils of wire and a two-meter fence on the forest side,” the publication notes.

Commander of the Podlasie Border Guard unit, General Sławomir Klekotka stated that construction began simultaneously in five locations. The barrier is planned to extend along the entire 186-kilometer section of the Poland-Belarus border in Podlaskie Voivodeship. The work is expected to be completed by the end of spring.
