MINSK, 21 April (BelTA) – The USA may not be against the resumption of the operation of Nord Stream, but it will want a share from the operation of the gas pipelines, Russian political scientist and orientalist Karine Gevorgyan said in the latest episode of the V Teme [On Point] project on BelTA's YouTube channel.
“The main competitor of the United States, including economically, is Europe. But it must be said that the previous administration also did a lot to hamstring Europe. Trump is happy: he himself kept demanding that Nord Stream operation be discontinued,” said Karine Gevorgyan.

Yet, the political scientist noted that the USA's capability to supply gas is narrowing due to the lack of necessary resources. “I will not be surprised at all if, say, the United States does not mind the resumption of the operation of Nord Stream. But they will want to have a share of the profit. And I will not criticize our government if it agrees to this,” Karine Gevorgyan emphasized.
